Like your meads a bit meaty?
This is the highest ABV mead we’ve ever made.
Along with @ology_brewing_co and @ology_distilling we made a fortified mead back in 20’.
Red Currants, Tart Cherries, Boysenberries and Apricots. Then fortified with a Brandy made with the same fruits with Ology Distilling.
We then placed it in an 8yo Heaven Hill barrel for 17 months.
The result? 18.5% of Berry and caramel goodness. The alcohol well hidden despite its lofty ABV.

I like em boozy and this is apricot dipped in bourbon. Lots of heat on the finish with a dry puckering kick.

Dark reddish brown, somewhat viscous, alcohol tears. Smells heavy alcoholic, barrel, fruit. Sticky mouthfeel, pretty alcoholic. Taste is a good mess of things. Plenty alcohol, randomy ripe fruits, brandy, bourbon. Mostly alcoholic, and not that great.
