I like these Salt things. Not a salty beer, but just a lovely BBA sweet stout. Lightly roasty, good amount of bourbon without overdoing it, creamy and rich. Plenty of chocolate, as promised. All nicely balanced and quite tasty.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours almost black with minimal beige head. Theres a strong boozy aroma of currants and figs. In the mouth it has a rich oily viscous texture with alcoholic strength easily apparent. There is a rich overall sweetness with raisins, treacle and black chocolate, It’s like drinking liquid Christmas pudding ! As might be expected finish is boozy and warming. Gorgeous ! But sip it slowly…
