This March we dove into our recipe notebooks looking for ideas to inspire the ultimate session-able stout recipe. Here is Ostara Stout our take on the concept of 'Dublin Stout'. Brewed to be complex but quaffable. We took some of our imperial stout tricks and adapted them to a lower ABV base recipe. The result has layered malts with some lovely soft chocolate notes finished with a nice hop zing to help clean the palate. Sláinte

Tap at shamrock inn, cph. Dark brown small light brown head. Mild roasted maltyand coffee Aroma. Good roast. Clean roasted malty Flavor is slightly tart or fruity coffee, roasted malts, very dry. Faint dark chocolate,. Resembles guiness , Refreshing black 5% er.

On nitro at The Beer Temple in Dublin. Jet black pour. Finger-high creamy tan head. Aroma is dark cocoa, roasted malt. Flavor is dark malt, chocolate and espresso. Smooth and silky. Brief dry finish. Outstanding!

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours black-brown, clear, with a foamy, beige head. Light sweet flavour with nice, toothy roast, ashy bitterness, woody dryness, earth, cocoa. Light bodied, velvety, with fine carbonation. Finishes with quick, hard, ashy bitterness. Sound.
