On tap, pours dark copper with no head. Aroma and flavour of fungus, with a balance of malt of hops. Not too good.

Cask, handpump at the Four Candles, JDW, Oxford 02.09.10 Pours more amber than gold in my opinion, with very little head to speak of. Initially I quite liked this, it was fruity, with some hoppiness showing but then I got the impression that this was a little tired and maybe a touch past it’s best with a slight sour toffeeiness starting to show. From cask at The Plough and Harrow. Pours clear and golden yellow with a lacing white head. Aroma is fruity hoppy and mild cornish/malty. Fruity, slight herbal, bitter and mild roasted malt. Mild herbal and bitter finish with a light fruity note.

Cask conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol, 29/07/10. Amber in colour with a slight white head. Plenty of toffee sweetness, some red fruits and a hint of spice, before citrus hops and a short, bitter finish. Ok.
