Nocturne is a spontaneously fermented full malt beer. Not your typical lambik beer, but our take on a Vlaams Oud Bruin. The beer was brewed with five different barley malts, from pilsner malt to dark roasted malts, and no wheat whatsoever.
This batch was brewed in March 2018 with more dark chocolate malt, and put on barrels for four years before we blended it with a small portion of freshly brewed Nocturne. The weighted average age of this beer upon bottling is 45 months.

Good cream head, stable, over deep dark brown beer. Smells of cola with pine (or Badedas, sorry). Very faint horseblanket, some lactic acid. Wood, lactic acid, just a hint of chocolate, melanoidins. Sour red fruit and lemon. Hint of cinnamon. No more Badedas, nor pine. Lively, tittilating MF. Very little acidthinning, some -burn. Despite the lower rating, not really less than the first version (putteke van de nacht) I tried earlier.

Interesting dark Amber color, light acidic sour notes. Slight roast, pleasant richer malt character with tartness.

Taster at BXLBeerfest. Dark brown color, small tan head. smells earthy, leathery, funky, some toffee. Nice smell full body, soft carbonation. tastes toffee, earthy, leathery, bit Balsamic, nutty, marzipan. Finishes lightly dry and light to medium sour with notes of Balsamic, earthy and toffee. Nice stuff, not my favorite style, but nice balance

At BXL. Dark brown. Huge smoke, sour grains, roasted notes, very earthy, dead leaves, cocoa nibs. Over medium sour. Not really my thing.
