Can from the local Raley's grocery. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is citrus and mango. It's juicy and moderately bitter. Flavor is like the aroma. Flavor is decent.

12oz can pours a clear deep golden with a minimal off white head. Aromas of soft light \pale malts, flavors a re light p[ale maltiness and the hop character is firm smooth and balanced for a double IPA Good

12oz can. Poured a clear, with slightly haze, golden color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was citrus, pine. Flavor was citrus, tropical fruit. resin. With fruity finish. High ABV is more of a deterrent than an positive attribute here.

Sample from a larger than a pint can. I usually don't even look at a Goose Island product other than BC, but I couldn't resist the tick. Killer hop bill that isn't the relevant. Odd gas station cheap artificial tone, like the worst of the worst...think those flavored Steel Reserves. The aroma was hard to get by. The taste is less offensive, diesely onion sugary boosted...malt liquor with some fucked up juicy hops on top. I'm hoping this can is two years old or something, wow....that aroma is HORRIBLE. Bad stuff. Another nail in the coffin for GI.

This 19.2 oz can was acquired from Total Wine in Santa Fe a month back or so. A big can of IPA carrying a fairly strong abv. What can go wrong here? I have a snifter from a Houston brewery in place to catch the pour, a completely clear, gold-yellow liquid with a tall head of almost white foam and a vigorous carbonation. I take a smell and determine pine with a significant amount of tropical. A drink now, not bad. I get more of a NE effect but there is also an obvious bitterness. Mango, pineapple, some grapefruit, resin and dry crackers. The alcohol will show up later, I believe, just not right now. Decent and tasty.

Crisp, ever so slightly hazy golden and orange/bronze coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat for a while. Aroma of pine, citrus fruits, hay, grass, flowers and a touch of resin, with some light malt, sugars and especially alcohol still on the nose. Medium to almost Full-bodied; Fairly rich malts show at first with a lot of piney and resinous notes showing and bringing out some strong bitterness from the alpha acids of the hops, a bit of a dry and grassy note as well, with a touch of the lemon and grapefruit citrus fruits also here and a mellow hit of caster sugar at the end, but all of those aren't overwhelming. Aftertaste is rich, full of flavour, especially the dryness and bitterness from the hops here, with a noticeable, but not overpowering alcohol note. Overall, a fairly nice real Imperial IPA in terms of bitterness, balance and profile with the alcohol hidden about right, the body about level, but one odd/crazy thing - the SIZE of this can! I could barely handle a single serving and oh yeah, where are the tropical notes? This one was still surprisingly very nice to sample super fresh from Chicago. I sampled this super tall, 19,2 ounce can, purchased from Whole Foods in Chicago (Gold Coast), Illinois on 09-August-2021, on my twelfth wedding anniversary, with a 'best-by' date on the can of 26-November-2021 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 03-October-2021.

19.2 can. Copper orange color with a big beige head. Tropical fruit and citrus aroma, lightly floral. Tastes a little sweet up front, some musty tropical fruit, and finished a bit abrupt with a sharp bitterness. It’s a bit hot; the higher abv is noticeable for sure..

16oz can picked up in Boston. Pours clear light golden with a small white head, good lacing. Pineapple juice, resin, zesty. Doesn't taste like 9.9%, good.
