Bottle @ Rewe , near Forchheim. Pours clear copper with a small White head. Dusty malty. Touch of toffee and paperbag. Grains beneath. A bit flabby.

Deep gold with a frothy, white head. Aroma of grains, honey and fermenting apples. Taste is grainy bitter and slightly buttery with a touch of honey sweetness nearing the finish. Lingering grainy bitterness that’s fairly mild. Body to the light side of medium, moderate carbonation. Drinkable.

Bottle: Pale golden, hazy, lazy carbonation, small loose foamy layer; sweetish dusty-grainy nose with a fruity touch; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied and quite soft; a bit more bitter in the short sweetish-grainy finish. Tame, but at least better than expected…

(bottle, 33cl, as Greif Lager, 4.9% abv) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Strawy and delicately grainy pale malty aroma with traces of honey and a tinge of floral hops in the background. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a tame carbonation. Strawy ale malt character with chalky notes and a tinge of herbal hoppy spice; sweet and delicately bitter finish with discreetly herbal and shy flowery hoppy notes. Rather bland. 23.VI.14
