Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light ashtray. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, with a smooth, dry, roasty, liqourice, light dry coffee, ashtray, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Extremely dark but not quite black, with a light roasted malt aroma and taste. Has an easy-drinking texture with a mild sweetness to it.
