Draft at Brewdog Birmingham. Poured almost black in colour with a lasting frothy, off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, dank, piney hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, herbal, lychee, aniseed, wet, dank hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Keg at BD Flagship. It pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, fresh, charred pine, plenty of umami, liquorice, aniseed, tropical fruit vibes and some lychee. The taste is firmly dry, punchy and pleasing bitterness, charred, umami, liquorice, pine needles, peppery spice, waxy citrus, floral, touch of tropical fruits, coffee grounds and just a touch of alcohol with a bitter, toasty finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Strikes a nice balance. Good punchy bitterness. Nice one.
