Cloudy tan. Rocky head for a wheat. Wheaty aroma with light rusticity, apple skins, yeast. Footy-funky character, macadamia nut, maybe cashew, but finishes with wheaty acidity, lending the beer more balance and drinkability than it probably deserves.

50 cL bottle, trade with Maria. Pours slight cloudy orange with a diminishing white head. Estery aroma of orange fruit and banana, light yeasty too. Creamy to crisp carbonated mouthfeel. Flavour is medium dry yeasty, wheaty and estery with a mild bitterness into the finish. Medium sweet fruity finish slowly lingering into a more dry and estery far finish.

Draught at Annafest, Forchheim. Cloudy golden, small head. Mustardy spicy nose. Sweet and grainy with dense rounded mouthfeel. Some mustardy banana, sweet sugary finish. A bit rough.

Bottle. A hazy orange-golden beer with good carbonation and a lasting white head. Some butterscotch in the aroma, which is quite weak, and also has citrus, banana, cloves and some wheat. Sweet, effervescent medium full body with flavors of banana, some caramel and citrus, and also some cloves and bitterness. The butterscotch is there too, but much more anonumous than in the aroma. Quite dry finish with banana, citrus and a little caramel. A quite nice beer, but with the unpleasant butterscotch aroma pulling the score down a bit. When approaching the bottom of the glass, the beer presents itselves better, preventing the score to drop further. Wouldn’t mind having more of it though. (080728)

Bottle. Hazy medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, yeast, light banana. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and light light acidic with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (201007)

Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a huge light orange head. The aroma is sweet and freshly wheaty with hints of citrus. The flavor is wheaty with light notes of banana and citrus, the latter giving it a hint of acidity towards the end, which also is dry and slightly bitter. The body is light for the style though without being thin.

(swing top bottle) Hazy, pale golden with a big and persistent, slightly off-white foamy head. Yeasty, moderately sweet and slightly acidic wheat aroma with vanilla and restrained banana-fruity notes. Medium-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation (for a Hefeweizen). Wheat-malty taste with a distinctive vanilla accent and a rather shy fruitiness, not to speak of raw phenols. Mellow malty, minimal-fruity finish with vanilla and a balanced sourness. Being definitely not a Weizen lover, I appreciate this rather uncommon Hefeweizen.
