This is a true Colossus of a beer. An English-style Barley Wine brewed with the finest English malts and hops, and double mashed to maximize flavor and texture.
Aged for 13 months in Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels. The barrel aging gives complex notes of vanilla, coconut and charred oak, which layers on top of the beer’s flavor profile of dark fruit, tobacco and chocolate.
A beer truly worthy of its name!

33cl Can. HJ Hansen, Odense. Pours Black with a small beige head. Depth en masse. Chocolate, vanilla, Wood and bourbon. Dark fruit. Super slick and vinous with a pleasant warmth from alcohol. Super Lovely and perhaps better than the 2022 version.

Can, 14.5%. Very bready aroma with loads of malt syrup, tobacco, and vanilla in the nose. Very dark brown colour, seems unclear. Unstable fizzy head. The flavour is sweet with vanilla and tobacco. Good bready notes, malt syrup. Quite high alcohol bitterness.

Can. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of Barley Wine yeast, malt, barrel, and dried fruit. Sweetish flavour of barrel, vanilla, malt, caramel and dried fruit, with estery touches. Dry and barrelllike aftertaste with notes of yeast. Lovely. Gratias maximas ago, Tue!

Tasting at Ryan's, can
Dark brown colour, small head. Aroma of bourbon, mild aroma of roasted malt, cacao. Full bodied, sweet, but not syrupy; good malt and cacao flavour, and bourbon; not an English Barley Wine in my book, but it reminds me of other local double decoction strong ales; there's a feeling of lactose in the finish that I don't need, but overall it's a very good beer.
