50cl bottle thanks to onkelgobber. Pours almost opaque black with some red glints. The nose has salty liquorice. The taste has more of the liquorice, this time sweet, some toffee and malt notes in the background. The palate is medium bodied and palate with a fairly elegant finish. Overall, a bit one-dimensional.

Some liquorice in aroma and flavour. Has a sweet fruity flavour but also a nice level of roasted malt bitterness. Really smooth, creamy, oily texture.

0.5l bottle. This one is a clear dark deep ruby brown one with a small light beige lacing head. Not to extreme on the aroma, light malty and caramel sweet with traces of chocolate, cocoa and snow. It feels really nice in the mouth, with a nice average small bubbly carbonation level and a thick oily texture. In the taste I get sweet caramel mixed with tones of both chocolate, something floral, dark sugar and some wet cocoa powder. It's perhaps a bit on the sweet side and perhaps a bit unbalanced, but I found this surprisingly tasty. 04.07.2012

A very disappointing stout. A roasted flavor, and some bitterness, but not much flavor. Dark brown in color with a white head.

50 cl. bottle from a supermarket. Deep, dark amber colour with a nice tanned head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is a bit of mustiness, licorice, and oats. Taste is medium sweet, malty with a hint of oats, finishes with licorice. Weak notes of spices, the stinging nettle, maybe? The stinging nettle is a fun idea in a decent beer.

Properly stored in my beer cellar after I bought the 500ml bottle at The Fine Food Store, Kastrup Airport in March ’10. Fawn-coloured head, reduced to a permanent layer, covering a mahogany coloured body. Rings of lace to the glassware. Mixture of dark malts to the nose with hints of dark fruits. Taste of chocolate malts supported by nuts, raisin and star anise. Rounded and dry in the mouth. More sweet than bitter ending. Nice (Tromsø, 15.10.2011).
