The challenge was to make a beer that adheres to natural brewing processes, avoids a watered down flavor, has a truly sessionable alcohol content, and keeps the calories low (76 calories for a 12 oz serving). So we put our brewing acumen to the test and were pleased with the resulting beer that showcases a moderate cereal grain base with notes of mineral water. While warm fermentation with a saison yeast creates notes of white grape juice and gentle floral hop flavors with notes of orange flesh and grapefruit. The beer finishes dry but bright with a hint of acidity giving this light beer enough backbone to hold up to most meals. One thing is for certain, Beer for Lightweights is not your typical light beer.
