Cask @ Hillsborough Hotel, Sheffield [030916]
Amber, soft haze, dense white head
Aroma of soft ginger, touch of lemon underneath, no malts, does what it says on the pump clip
Taste of lemon and ginger nut biscuits, quite sweet malt, tangy, lemon slightly metallic
Palate - Medium body, tangy bitter lemon, soft sweet ginger. Finish as main flavour, bitter tangy lemon, slightly harsh bitter
Overall - OK, gimmicky, slight metallic edge in finish spoils it a little

On tap at the three horseshoes, Waddington. Golden colour with a shite head. Aroma certainly has ginger and citrus. Taste ginger and fruity.

bottle from Darts Farm Topsham. Hazy pale yellow, large white head and lots of lemon in the nose. Malty background, quite light, with lots of perfumy lemon flavours, seems quite artificial to me. Not my cup of tea.

Cask @ Bedford Arms, Bedford. Golden amber. Still, almost no head. Hard to get past the ginger in the aroma. A bit of fruit but mostly ginger astringency. Spicy sweet ginger taste tempered by a sour bitter note that asserts itself more convincingly in the finish. Sour/bitter aftertaste. Weak but refreshing mouthfeel. Decent all in all, although I personally tend to dislike ginger beers I can appreciate its worth.

Bottle from B&M Bargains; clear light amber pour with thin white head, lemon and ginger aroma, has a lager shandy sort of taste with feint spicy ginger, tastes very artificial, with a light bitterness.
