For this dark and luxurious brew we have taken our Darkened Ardour Imperial Stout and aged it for 7 months in fresh Bourbon and Rum barrels and blended the resulting glorious liquid into something rather exceptional.
The base imperial stout consists of notes of dark chocolate, espresso, heavy roasted malts and fresh ground coffee with cinnamon and vanilla from addition of Tonka beans. The barrel ageing adds smooth layers of oak and warming spirits in to this complex cauldron of dark delights

Gyle 641. Pours black, thick, bit of tan head. Smell is roasty, bitter, cinnamon, tonka. Thick, creamy, low carbed. Taste is bitter, dry, plenty of cinnamon and tonka. Some coffee. Not sure where the bourbon is, rum adds a bit of herbal leather. Nice.

Appearance- black, oily, with a small foamy tan/light brown head. Aroma- rum, bourbon, chocolate, espresso coffee, liqueur, dark malts, leathery hints, booze-soaked dark fruits. Cinnamon and spicy hints. Taste- rich dark chocolate, black coffee, chocolate cake, tiramisu, dark rum, scorched treacly malt, cinnamon, cocoa, whisky, vanilla hints, oak barrel undertones, chocolate syrup. Lengthy sweet finish with lots of barrel notes. Very well-done.

Can from Beerdome. Black with a small brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, cinnamon and bourbon. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish with a little warming alcohol. Oily and soft. 120221
