A blend of clean Belgian amber ale fermented with La Chouffe yeast and a single barrel of mixed culture Belgian pale/golden sour gives you this malt forward farmhouse style with ester, spices and hints of funk.

17 October 2022. At Bow & Arrow, Albuquerque. Shared with the lovely Anke!

A: hazy amber, stable, foamy, off-white head.
A: unripe apricot, funky orange, leather, cheese, biscuit.
T: sour apricot, plum, orange, sourdough.
F: grassy hops, straw, funky fruit & leather.
P: medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.
Interesting but a bit too dirty overall perhaps.

On tap at Bow & Arrow, pours an opaque dark orange with a small beige head. Nose is estery, with floral notes, bubblegum and some rustic farmhouse notes. Flavour is a little drier but still expresses too many esters, with candi sugar and bubblegum upfront, followed by farmhouse notes and some earthiness. Needs more attenuation and better temp control, along with higher carb. Decent but just another American farmhouse ale that is off the mark.
