33 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 16.10.2010
Aroma has some alcohol, berries and hints of metal. Flavour has some fusel‐like alcohol, solvent, roasted malt, berries and hints of brown sugar. Unfortunately one of the worst Abbey Dubbels I’ve had. Hope they can do better at Saimaa.

33 cl bottle from Alko in Vaasa. BB June, 2012. Sampled on February 26, 2012Clear dark copper color, tan smallish head. Sweet, malty, cream, metallic scent. Malty, sweet, some alcohol, a bit grainy taste. Medium to full moouthfeel, low bitterness.AS for style perhaps I’d say closer to a bock, but doesn’t matter as I as always rate for my taste and not of style. Tasty!

Draught @ Bruuveri
Pours copper red with a small white head. Aroma of caramel malts, notes of glue and yeast. Sweet and malty taste with notes of cardboard, mild hops and fruits. Finish is sticky and sweet. Unbalanced, not very good.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and metal, leading to a dry finish. Thanks pinball for sharing.

Bottle from somewhere in Turku. Nice amber-red body, clear though, scant off white head. Strange malty nose, bit sourish. Sweet taste, malt background, sourish plummy fruitiness up front, tasting fake. Vague coffee. Not a good dubbel, and while it has some qualities, it’s far from a great dubbel, and not too brilliant in terms of drinkability. They can do better I guess...

Finnish dubbel hasn’t historically meant anything else but kerosene, but this time, prejudice didn’t pay. A decent attempt, somewhat caramely and with a trace of berries.

330ml Bottle - Red/dark brown with no head. Malty and fruity aroma with raisins, caramel and toffee. The taste is fruity and slightly spicy with mince pies, caramel, nuts and dried fruit detected. Not bad and a good attempt at the style.
