Visiting Pilsner Urquell's underground cellars and tasting their original recipe in pitch-lined oak barrels will leave an impression like no other beer experience can. Years can drift by and you will still remember the cellar's damp, bitter cold. You will remember the rows and rows of majestic barrels lining its hallowed walls. Most importantly, you will remember how tasting the original pilsner directly from one of these hand-crafted vessels reminded you of why you fell in love with beer in the first place. This is the experience we drew from when making Sklepník Old Pilsen Style Lager. We can only aspire to spark a similar passion with our humble rendition. Na zdraví!

Deep golden color. Very clean busicuity malt character (the malt really shines) with subdued grassy nose with a touch of apricots. solid carbonation, extraordinary clean palate, firm bitterness, medium full body. I didnt find this overly complex, but I did find this immaculately made. As it warms it shows more character of grassy notes and fruity hops I could drink gallons of this. --- Beer merged from original tick of Sklepník on 15 Mar 2023 at 12:18 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8.5 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 10 | Overall - 9. Original review text: Deep golden color. Rather thin head. There is something dank, dark and musty about this nose. Its got the grassiness of the regular version, but this subtle oak character that adds a whole new layer. Absolute masterpiece with amazing malt character, biting bitterness, big grassiness, but then layered with this dank, rustic, oak character that is just the right amount. Super clean and perfectly balanced. OMG. I am in heaven.

Bit more complex somehow. Sweater but maybe almost vanilla. Nice hoppiness again. Very nice drop!

A golden pils with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice crisp biscuit malt with grassy German hops, light mineral notes, pleasant and smooth. In mouth, a nice crisp biscuit malt with grassy German hops, light mineral notes, pleasant and smooth. On tap at Tooth and nail.

Power tasting at Matt's slaughterhouse, can
Blond colour, hazy. Aroma of malt and hazy. Soft mouthfeel, possibly undercarbonated, soft malt, strong hay character, moderate bitterness, there's some grassy hops, light herbs.
Rustic, quite good.

12oz @ Matt's parents' place with a scenic view. Appearance: a bit hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: malty and hoppy. Taste: along the same lines, malty, and quite bitter. Soapy. Overall: meh for me.

355mL can, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle, spicy grassy hops and crisp crackery malt. Flavour is crisp, with a nice spicy grassy hop character and very crisp crackery malt. Crisp, spicy and quite assertively carbonated. Not quite as vibrant as I'd hoped, but it has a nice bite to it. Solid.
