The Krenkerup Rauch Bier or Smoked beer, is one of our flagship beers and winner of 3 Gold medals in the renowned European Beer Star competition. Complex and sweet, with a very distinct smoky flavor, that is in perfect balance with the rest of the ingredients.

Bottled. A nut-brown beer with a huge off-white head. The aroma has light notes of smoke, nuts, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, and lighter notes of smoke and nuts, leading to a dry smokey finish. Not enough smoked for my liking.

Bottle, from trade with Papsoe. It pours a clear, dark amber body and a finger-thick, dense, off-white head. The aroma is really ham and sausage like, with umami maltyness and some fruity notes. The flavor is much the same, although less pronounced, especially on the smoke. Some bitterness smoothens it out. Medium body, smoked finish with some bitterness. A pleasant aroma is followed by a boring flavor and a decent finish. Overall, decent, but far from as good as the best. 110523

Amer with a small off-white head. Clean malty aroma with bread and toffee, and a nice mild smokiness. Sweetish smoky and bready malt flavour. It’s a subdued smoke character, but it’s there.

Botle 50 cl. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. The nose has some caramel and a discreet whiff of Bamberg smoke. Medium body, sweet caramel and hardly any smoke. Subdued bitterness - everything is pretty subdued about this beer. Not really a serious Rauchbier. 130211
