A blend of crystal, pale, oats and dark malt creates an incredibly smooth base full of chewy caramel, fresh hazelnut and a touch of roasty dark chocolate. We’ve added US heavyweight Centennial throughout the boil with Willamette and Citra going in the whirlpool bringing us bright citrus zest, pine and honey aroma and a tacky bite of bitterness. We fermented with our house English ale yeast bringing us lovely estery and berry flavours and dry hopped with equal parts Centennial and Amarillo to finish the beer with a touch more citrus and fresh pine flavour.

Can from Beer52. The beer name brought back memories, I've still got The Fall album of the same title in my loft somewhere. Pours a dark brown with nice looking beige top, plenty of lacing. Aroma has a dusty and slight citric hop, light roastiness, chocolate, maybe even a faint berry hint. Taste of caramel, chocolate, roast, citrus, light spice, crisp bitter bite. Medium bodied, smooth. Excellent. I'm really liking this American brown ale style.

Keg at the North Brew bar, Birmingham, 18/02/23. Deep mahogany brown with a light khaki cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is brown bread, dried fruits, cocoa powder, nutty, toffee. Taste comprises earthy fruits, chocolate biscuit, brown bread, light spice, cocoa dusting, dried fruit rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Not bad for the style.

Brown colour with light haze. Aroma of toasted malts and some dank hop oils. Primarily hoppy flavour. Just a touch of dark malt in the finish.

1/3 pint, on tap at North Taproom Snow Hill. Shared with Finn. A beige head resting on top of a deep dark brownish body, spotty lacing. Slightly roasted malt-fruity nose, promising. Balanced flavours of caramel, nuts, and ripe citrus. Malt-fruity tail, lightly roasted. Likeable.(Birmingham 14.02.2023).

Delt med Rune. Ultramørkebrun. Lavt tett skum med litt farge. Litt lacing. Karamellaroma. Smaken lettrøstet malt - og mere karamell. Nesten ikke bitterhet.

Can from Beer 52 – drank at home. Pours a murky dark brown with a sizeable frothy beige head and good lacing There’s a strong aroma to this one. Malts from the off, then honey and lemon as you dig deeper. Pretty much the same in the mouth, with the addition of coffe grounds, vimto and hints of caramel. Finish is slightly dry and hoppy. Hides it’s strength well – until you swallow ! A slightly unusual combination – but nice.
