12 oz. bottle, reads 12% ABV, pours pitch black with a medium tan head. Aroma is full of caramel malts and whiskey notes upfront, further back with some roasted malt and chocolate. The whiskey barrels seem not too prominent on the nose and there is no boozy note. Flavour of rich caramel malts that dominate, accentuated lightly by very complex whiskey barrel notes that are perfectly incorporated--not too overbearing at all--, and some faint chocolatey notes. ABV is exceedingly well worked in, as there is no burn at all. Body is relatively thick, like silk, and quite sweet, though not cloying at all. Rich, warming and luxurious. Excellent rendition of the Yin.

33cl bottle thanks to Joes. [bottle says 12% ABV]Pitch black opaque color, no head just a slight light brown lacing. Smell roasted malts, slightly sweet, slightly alcohol, slightly hops, slightly alcohol, wood, liquor and slightly winey. Taste malts, moderately roasty, lightly hops, hint of alcohol, wood, lightly liquor. Soft, silky, velvety mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation.

Bottle thx to Joes (12% abv according to the bottle). Pitch black, opaque colour with a non-existing head. Smells bourbon, soft, sweet, roasty, dark chocolate. Tastes lovely! Chocolate, some roastyness, sweet, bourbon, red fruits, wood, deep, soft. Silky body, full taste. Amazing beer! Really great.. I loved the yin, but this is even better.

330ml bottle from Ølbutikken
Pours pitch black with a small foamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, wooden notes, oak, vanilla, cream and hints of vegetables. Taste is roasty and creamy with vanilla notes, hints of wood, oak and vegetables. Finish is roasty and strong with alcohol burning through slightly. Okay, a bit unbalanced but still quite tasty barrel aged impy.

The official Odense sunny Thursday evening in June monster tasting event. Black with a lasting tan head. Aroma of licorice, a touch of meat, and a touch of ash. Sweet roasted flavour with ash and licorice. One dimensional and a bit thin, given the strength

330 ml bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours oily pitch black with a rather small chocolate mousse looking head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet with roasted malts, whisky, liquorice fudge, grass, charred wood, pumpernickel, alcohol, coffee, peat, tar, smoke and hints of burnt caramel and pine. Taste is sweet, bitter and metallic with roasted malts, peat, sheet metal, single malt whisky, resinous wood, pine, salty liquorice, bitter chocolate, sweetened coffee, brown sugar, alcohol and hints of prunes, raisins and vanilla. Mouthfeel is intense, rather round, boozy and full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with liquorice, dark bread, brown sugar, whisky, wood and peat. Taste is a bit too metallic, can’t say I remember regular Yin tasted like that.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours an opaque black with a lacing beige head. Sweet woody, oaky aromas pretty much overpowering the roast. Rich body, low carbonation, very, very sticky sweet roast and quite some rustic wood. Quite some heat in the finish. Quite too sticky. 230512
