Indulgence 10 is composed of various imperial stout bases, and is aged on different barrels and brands. The first half of the blend is aged on Appleton rum and rhum barrels. ‘What the heck is the difference between rum and rhum?’ Well, rum is made with the molasses obtained during the processing of sugar cane. Rhum however, is made from freshly squeezed sugar cane juice that is grown especially for the rhum, and is made only on the island of Martinique. Stouts that are aged on rhum barrels are therefore slightly less strong in molasses flavor, but are just as intense as other rums. The second half of the blend is aged on Heaven Hill bourbon and Weller barrels. These were the first Weller barrels we used, and we absolutely loved them. The beers turned out fudgy, complex, and had notes of dried fruits like some red wines do.

The full blend for Indulgence 10 is very complex due to the use of different, but exquisite, barrel types. This beer pours near flat and is very low on carbonation, to give you the best experience. This brings out the delicate flavors of the barrels and the beer. The aroma begins with a punch of molasses and rum, and then quickly transforms into coffee and bourbon vanilla. Some fine red wine or ruby port also joins the party. The flavor is intense, rum forward, wine-like, and spicy. After the big flavors follow notes of liquorice. The mouthfeel is oily, fudgy, well rounded and warm. The beer finishes dry, and you'll want to indulge in your next sip.

375 ml bottle. Pours black with no head. Aromas of thick dark chocolate syrup, chocolate rum candy, vanilla, chocolate fudge cake, and slick roasted malts. Rich flavors follow same with a little bit more rum and dusty dark chocolate. Excellent.

Glossy black, edge of light brown head, looks thick. Smells roasty, some rum. Thick mouthfeel, strong, boozy, rich. Taste is proper oldschool bitter roasty, dark chocolate, coffee. Barrel is there but supporting. Rum, bourbon, milky chocolate, molasses.
