Our head brewer is almost as passionate about ice hockey as he is beer. Rarely seen without his signature gold and black hat, this beer is a tribute to both his loves. With a mild sweetness balanced by the complex flavors of roasted malts, this robust porter is as smooth as fresh ice and as tasty as a wrist shot off the post.
Pairs great with any chocolate dessert or braised beef.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in the glass with a finger's worth of khaki foamy head which dissipated mildly to leave some light lace
Aroma: roasted malts, light coffee tones, sweet ash, light notes of dark chocolate
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas - roasty, sweet and toasty; mild roasty to coffee-ish aftertaste
Texture: light to medium bodied, some sessionability about it, some roasty smoothness along the tongue; finishes semi-sweet and mild roasty tones
Overall: I'd say it works as a porter and I would have again if I could.

On tap at Man in the Moon. Black with a tan head. Coffee, licorice, mild dark malt and notes of fruit. A decent one.

--Keg at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. -- Black, mid sized beige head. Aroma of licorice and orange. Mid dry with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Well integrated flavours from licorice, coffee, orange and tobacco. Mid bitter finish. Very pleasant old school American porter with concentrated flavours.

Crowler from Kelly and Dave, Thanks for thinking of me. Dark brown bordering on black with a small tan head that dissipates. Roasty earthy with hints of caramel and chocolate. Could use a hint more body in my opinion but drinks quite well as is.
