A nice mahogany brown beer with wonderfully thick cream-colored foam. The fragrant malty bouquet with fine extracts of caramel makes you want to take your first sip. The taste is flattered by spicy roasted aromas and notes of dark chocolate on the palate. The fine hop notes are then replaced by a subtle malt sweetness.

Bottled@AIH40 (from bierzwerg.de). Hazy deep brownish amber colour, mediumsized off-white small head. Aroma is toasted malts, some poop, mild rye. Flavour is rye, mild bread, some bitterness and mild earthy and ashy notes too.

Bottle (AIH40 ). Deep ruby color, small beige head. Cardboardish, ryeish aroma. Medium-bodied. Front has caramalt but flavors are drying to finish. Some raisins, grassy hops and cardboard. Not spectacular.

The beer starts smooth and dark. Probably a bit too sweetish, lots of carbonation. The mainpart is dark, caramel, but neither deep nor complex. In the aftertaste a bit sticky, hints of roast.
Not so great - could be a bit deeper or more balanced in aroma. 7/10/7/7

Bottle: Deep ruby-amber coloured, mid-sized, slowly collapsing, off-white head, light to moderate caramelly nose, a dash of dark malt and delicate traces of toasted malt included; light to moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, as well; delicate sweetish-bitter finish with illusions of dark malt. Inoffensive, well crafted Dunkel...

(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Moderately toasted malty aroma with notes of caramel, milk chocolate and a tinge of herbal hops in the background. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Toast-malty caramely base, again with shy hints of chocolate and herbal accents; rather slim and mildly toasted malty finish with faint notes of hops far in the background. Not particularly outstanding. 25.IV.12
