A curious fusion of tart Flemish-style red ale and rich imperial stout, Mélange #1 is a testament to the staying power of artful blending. Hints of singed oak, leather, and fruit-forward tannins punctuate a sour profile while notes of dark fruits and vanilla imparted by bourbon barrel-aging deliver a perfectly melded, full-bodied finish.

Smells very oaky, bit tart, red fruit. This gotta be some sort of Terreux. Heavy, quite some stout used, plenty bourbon. Reveal: ha, I knew it. Curious fusion spells confusion, it's an interesting mess of things. Not unpleasant at all.

Both beers are clear here in the mix, not wholly blended. Tart Flemish up front, soft cocoa stout finish
