Dark yellow colour with quick fading head. It's a pleasant cider with a mild funk. Dry. Slightly sweet apple juice.

The third Kluysbosch beer, this time Angerik’s own (new) lambic blended with a cider produced in Basque Country; 75 cl champagne bottle with green wax (which took me ten minutes to properly remove), shared with my girlfriend. Tiny-bubbled, medium thick, egg-white, moussy but quickly breaking and eventually dissolving head, cloudy ochre-tinged apricot blonde robe. Aroma of very strong cider, even sugared apple juice, ripe red Jonagold and also Granny Smith slices, buttermilk (diacetyl, I assume), sweat, stewed rhubarb, wet wood note, white demi-sec wine, cheese spread or yoghurt, pineapple juice touch, fresh lemonbalm leaves, lime zest, even something faintly minty. Juicy onset, very prominent crisp green apple tartness but nowhere really acidic – instead, sweet red apple and even sugared cider flavours pop up immediately after that, even ripe Early Desire pear and gooseberry jam; lime- and green apple-like sourness does persist but in a soft, mild way. Lambrusco-like effervescence, supple and vinous mouthfeel, a tad ‘thin’ but this is probably due to the large cider part; yoghurty lactic tartness joins the malic acid, while buttery and chalky side effects appear, as was also the case in previous Cuvée Kluysbosch lambics and is probably caused by diacetyl (though it does not really bother me personally). Light woodiness is noticeable, along with much more outspoken sweaty funkiness from the lambic; however, this sour-sweet apple flavour remains dominant till the very end, with the sweet side of it even becoming a bit much. I am not a great cider lover and will probably never be one (believe me, I tried) and this concoction is a bit too cider-forward for me, even in a sweet way; it overwhelms the still somewhat frail traits of the Angerik lambic too much, but at the same time I have to admit that this blend is not without complexity and will certainly please the cider people. Benefit of the doubt for me – but still interesting enough to keep following this Cuvée Kluysbosch series closely.

13/XII/22 - 37.5cl bottle @ Commotie (Gent), BB: n/a (2022-1737)
Pretty cloudy orange blond hybrid, practically no head. Aroma: funky, acidic impression, pretty fruity, green apples, a little dirty. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish start, pretty dry, little spicy, gentle acidity, green apples. Aftertaste: fruity, apples, pretty sourish, a little funky, slightly off.
