Cask at Flowerpot, Derby. Pours almost black with a small cream head and good lacing. There’s malts and blackcurrent in the aroma plus some hints of lactose. In the mouth the lactose comes to the fore along with dark fruits, chocolate, dandelion & burdock , blueberries and some traces of vanilla, with caramel lurking underneath it all. Finish is quite fruity. This si nice.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured almost black in colour with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. The flavour is light sweet, medicinal and band aid, with a smooth light chocolate finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Mildly infected. Not great. Sad really as was really looking forward to this.
