Deadlift Imperial IPA is unlike any Imperial IPA you’ve ever lifted from the beer aisle. It has the strong hop flavor you’d expect from an Imperial IPA but no heaviness that could weigh down your desire to take another sip. The unique flavor stems in part from Nelson Sauvin hops imported from New Zealand. Deadlift’s other component, a simple but fully braced malt backbone muscles up enough malty sweetness and caramel character to spot the incredibly robust hop flavor and aroma.
Deadlift Imperial IPA uses Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand’s best hop growing region: South Island’s Nelson. This region produces some of the most flavorful hops found anywhere. These hops have an intense citrus, fruity, berry-like aroma and flavor that makes them unique. The result will surely be a welcome workout for your taste buds.

Color moscatel, apenas espuma. Aroma marcado, lupulado. Uva también. En boca potente, licórica. Bien equilibrada con dulce uva y amargor notable al final sin perder el dulzor. Buen punto de gas que realza el conjunto. Notable.

Bottled. Slightly hazy amber colour with a mediumsized off-white head that leaves lace. Aroma is sweet fruits, some sweet malts as well as a stinging tone from the alcohol. Flavour is tropical fruit juice with some gluelike sweetness (alcohol + hop in the mix probably gives this kind of not too pleasant gluelike sweetish notes). Not all too bitter in the finish, but does lack something to balance the alcohol up.

Bottle as Widmer Brothers Nelson Imperial IPA from bier-deluxe.de. Deep orange color with medium off-white head. Nice strong citrus hoppy aroma with honey. Taste, solid malty base with honey followed by nice hoppy kick with frapefruit, grapefruit zest, tropical fruits, pines. Long bitter sweet finish. Good.

God kraftig duft av honning og noe citrusfrukter. Dunkel gulbrun farge. Dekkende skum, heng langs kant. Fin god smak av honning og citrus som sitter lenge. En nydelig øl å nyte.

355ml bottle as Nelson IIPA, enjoyed at home. Hazy, light amber, lasting, lacing, thick white head. Does not get much better looking than this. Aroma has pine, caramel and berries, some herbal notes perhaps. Flavor has grapefruit, strong bitterness, balanced by the growing sweetness in the finish. Probably not very fresh, but this is enjoyable. This is so balanced. Lacks thr fresh fruitiness, but other than that, a very good IIPA.

Nelson Imperial IPA version, 0,355L bottle, BB 15.04.2014. Pours clear golden with white head. The head stays, nice lacing. Aroma is berries, fruits. Taste is sweet caramel, fruity, buttery, malty, and some pine bitterness. Alcohol is rather well hidden; finish is long resin bitter with some lingering sweetness. Overall: I would like to try fresher version, but it’s still very nice DIPA.
