Bottle with the brewer at BiervanEijk, Steenwijk. Strong blueberry with dark chocolate, some roast, bourbon, touch vanilla. Light alcohol in the finish, body could be a bit more full. Chocolate in the aftertaste.

Poured from the tap @ MBCC 2023 green session (finally adding my notes). Dark brown with beige head. Blueberry, very mild maple, quite nice.

Huge dark tan head over deep black beer, pouring viscously. Chocolate a mile out, followed by Bourbon/vanilla odours, some orange. Oranges, whisky, Bourbon, vanilla; again some black & sweet chocolate, incense. Quite sweet, but just under the tolerance treshold. Very thick, oily, chewy, alcoholheat. As said, sweet, but quite good in the end.

0,5l bottle at Ambasada in Zagreb. Black color, small coffee colored head. smells blueberry, fudgy, vanilla, bourbon, nutty, earthy. Nice to very nice smell. full body, light carbonation. tastes blueberry, nutty, vanilla, spices, cocoa, earthy. finishes lightly sweet with notes of blueberry, vanilla and nutty notes. Nice stuff, a bit too blueberry forward, but good none the less

Huge flavoured stout by FrauGruber, bottle shared with Craftmember. Deep mocha-beige, densely moussy, quickly dissolving head, leaving nothing in the end; black robe with thin coppery edge. Aroma of 'fondant' chocolate, molasses, red mold cheese, sweaty feet somehow, bourbon, blueberry crumble, wet leather, cooked blackberries, cheese spread, freshly chopped beech wood, Chinese ink, chewing tobacco, tar, charred toast, bayleaf, shoe polish. Dense onset, sweet and heavy but nowhere cloying, maple syrup indeed mingling with spicy blueberries, candied dates and dried figs as well as a touch of porcini-like umami; medium carbonation through a very thick, viscous body (unsurprisingly at this ABV), layers of walnutty, toasted pecan- and bitter chocolate-like malts, to which the maple syrup adds a more herbal than sweet component, almost like dark bitter honey. Roasted coffee- and chicory-like bitterness fills the finish, with considerable drying tannic woodiness from the bourbon barrels; the bourbon itself only accentuates the bittersweetness of the malts but does not overpower everything else as is all too often the case in this kind of hefty stouts. Lots of added flavours here, but none of them clash, which is not an easy feat even in such a giant of a stout. Formidable not only in its sheer power and intensity, but also in the intricate web of flavours it builds, each working well with the other. In that sense, I think the term 'masterpiece' is in order - in any case I was never this impressed by a FrauGruber beer, though obviously the quality level of their brews is consistently high. The perfect closure of a lovely Christmas evening.

Pitch black, lots of berries, artificiële fruitschaal… hou toch eens op man, dit stop je toch niet in een stout…

Bottle shared at Leeuwarden tasting. Opaque black color, virtually no head. Aroma and flavor are malts, (Dutch) "Engelse drop", oddly red fruit. Meh not great.
