Weißer Schaum, rubinrote Farbe. Hört sich irgendwie nach Hamburg an. Schon im frühen 13. Jahrhundert sollen Brauer hier ein Rotbier hergestellt haben. 1536 schenkte dann Joachim von Lohe sein feuerrotes Bier in St. Pauli aus, was eine ganze Bewegung in Gang gesetzt haben soll. Die Hamburger pilgerten in Scharen zu seinem Krug am Pepermölenbek. Eine ausgesuchte Spezialmalzmischung und der Aromahopfen Saphir machen unser Rotbier so rund und angenehm zu trinken. Auf Joachim! Enormous thanks to my mom and some friends (Ana & Karolina) for bringing this from Hamburg! Poured a dark amber-brown body with a small off white head. Heavy malty nose, just maltiness. Light grainy malty taste, maybe caramel, some dog food, very light hop. A solid malt-driven lager, with no major flows other than it’s not my style - glad to have tried it.

Bottled (thanks mom & dad). Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, grassy, herbal and quite sweet notes. Flavour is fruity, grassy, herbal, some toffeeish notes and mild wood.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, fine malty, not too dry. Interesting caramel notes, modest roasty. Finish well balanced, mild-dry. A good one!

Bottle: Reddish-amber coloured, clear, yellowish mid-sized off-white head, toasty-malty and fruity nose with a very faint metallic tinge; mild bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, quite soft; slightly lingering nutty-fruity finish with an increasing bitterness in the aftertaste. Yes, O.K.…

Bottle 330ml.Clear medium to dark red amber colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, brown sugar, burnt sugar, burnt brown sugar, light caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20120915]

Wässriger Beginn, die trockenen Malznoten sind nur im Hintergrund erkennbar. Das Bier bleibt wässrig, nur langsam setzen sich die malzigen und bitteren noten durch, die aber zum Ende die Wässrigkeit nicht überwunden haben. Schlecht. 9/5/8/5/7/5

33 cl bottle at Nox. Pours clear and golden amber with a small off white head. Aroma is roasted malty, breadish and light fruity. Toasted malty, light breadish and toffee sweet caramelish. Light fruity touch.

Bottle from bierzwerg.de. Deep amber color with small white head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, red fruit. Taste, roasted malt, red fruit, burned sugar. Nice bitterness in caramelly finish. Good.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, reddish copper colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Toasty malty and nutty aroma with notes of caramel, a tinge of molasses and a subtle berry-fruity touch. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a pleasantly calm and well-matured carbonation. Solid roast-malty taste with loads of caramel/burnt sugar, dark chocolate and mocha with a drying hops character in the backyard; dry-ish, mildly sweet roasty and bitter hoppy finish with subtle fruity notes.
