Golden Bock

Glissade is a remarkably mellow take on the traditional spring bock. With restrained sweetness, we emphasize subtle malt flavor balanced against delicate aromas of spicy and floral European hops. This complex balance helps Glissade slide across the palate, bracing us against the last cold nights of winter, while its bright golden color turns our thoughts toward spring.

Bottle (2010). Pours with a clear golden body and a white head. Aroma of grain, honey, light alcohol, and maybe some berry notes? Taste is clean, alcohol, grain and hay. Pretty boring, but not bad. Dry mouthfeel with lively bubbles.

Pours clear golden color with white head. Very light floral hop aroma. Grainy malts and flowery hop flavors. Light to medium body with lively carbonation. Not bad, but not one of their better beers.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Norm's, 1/18/10

Aroma: The aroma is floral, some bread, some apple, melon, honey, and a bit of spice
Appearance: Pours a clear golden-orange color with a bright, fluffy white head
Flavor: Taste is sweet (apple) up-front followed by a nice, clean hop bitterness
Palate: This beer is really crisp, clean, and refreshing with lively carbonation
Overall Impression: This is a nicely made, refreshing springtime beer. A really nice release from Sierra Nevada. I found this one to have just the right amount of sweetness, just the right amount of balance, and a wonderful crisp feel. I look forward to drinking quite a few more of these come warmer months, and this one should definitely stick in the rotation. Really tasty, flavorful, super fresh beer.
