Golden Bock
Glissade is a remarkably mellow take on the traditional spring bock. With restrained sweetness, we emphasize subtle malt flavor balanced against delicate aromas of spicy and floral European hops. This complex balance helps Glissade slide across the palate, bracing us against the last cold nights of winter, while its bright golden color turns our thoughts toward spring.

Pour is a bright goldn with a fizzy white head. Aroma is sweet malts with some cereal. Flavor is again lots of sweet malt with a burnt taste on the tounge after the swallow. Nothing really good and well below sierra nevadaβs usual standard.

Slightly hazy straw body, thin off-white head. Nose of caramel, butterscotch, and light grassy hops. Grassy, herbal body with light caramel sweetness and breads. Herbal, bitter finish.

From the bottle at the 2010 Indiana Winterfest. Poured a slightly hazy dark gold with an off-white head. Aroma had plenty of malts with notes of grain, caramel, cereal and a touch of hay. Flavor was a similar with more of a hop profile of citrus.

12oz shorty bottle..based on the old school Pale Bock? Filtered yellow-orange color. Soapy, patchy head. Mellow sweet malt aroma. Creamy, on the thicker side of medium-bodied. Quite fresh tasting, a nice change of pace from excessively shelfed/warehoused German examples that make it to these parts. A touch of hop boldness a la typical SN, but also quite refined and balanced, still leaning towards the sweet, sugary malt side, as per style. Another winner.

Pours deep gold into a stein. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Bread, cracker and biscuit aromas. Sharp with sweet caramel upfront turning to slight sourbread in the middle and on to a lasting roasted nuts finish.

Bottle. Malty aroma with an unpleasant rubbery note. Poured pale orange yellow with a medium white head. Moderate lacing. Medium body, very malty flavour, sweetness cut by hop. Lingering finish. This beer began bad and ended up well.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear golden color with a large creamy head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is somewhat faint with notes of nutty, grainy malts and a bit of honey. Taste is toasted malts, nutty notes and spicy, floral hops. Mild bitterness. Thin-medium bodied. Decent, could easily be better.

12 oz bottle. Aroma is bland--maybe some hay. Pours golden with nice lacing. Tastes like popcorn. With the majority of American craft beer drinkers giving high praise to high alcohol big beers, I can see why this might not impress. But if you take it for what it is, itβs a very decent beer. Not a masterpiece, no, but very drinkable and very well made.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours dark gold with a clingy, creamy off-white head. Light fruit aroma. Rather wheaty in flavor. Rather earthy/grassy/herby hop. Quite refreshing. Bitter finish.

On draught at Winking Lizard. Pours a clear golden color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma is floral hops and caramel malts. Light body with flavors of floral hops, spices and sweet malt. The finish has notes of bready malt and fruit with a lingering mild hops aftertaste. Overall this beer is reminiscent of a well-made Premium Lager, decent overall.
