A Bourbon Barrel aged Imperial Stout made with freshly roasted Emy J's Coffee. This beer is as complex as it gets. Flavors of vanilla, tannins, and coffee meld together to create a flavor as deep as the ravines of the Peruvian Andes!

Refrigerated bottle compliments of joepeesie poured into a snifter. Pours black with light then dark brown highlights and small light brown head. Little lacing, medium body, low carbonation, and sweet coffee aroma. Taste is roasted malt, bourbon, coffee, oak, and a hint of vanilla. Good, just the right amount of coffee.

Bottle @ Dan’s house, courtesy of camons. Thanks René! Cloudy brown appearance with a light brown head that dissipates pretty quickly. Roasted, burnt coffee grounds, slightly boozy whiskey, caramel, rich vanilla aroma. A bit boozy, burnt coffee, thick oaky, vanilla, toffee, somewhat acidic flavor with some fruity undertones.

Bottle @ Timbers, Denver. Pours black with a offwhite head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, bourbon, light oak, vanilla. Taste is roasted malt, expresso, coffee, both dark and milk chocolate, vanilla, oak, bourbon, dark fruit. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very nice BA stout, just lacks a bit of body and complexity to be really great. 100312

Purchased at Armanetti’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on a Tuesday night that feels like a Monday night. Appearance is pitch black with a thin off white head that rims around the glass. Aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, a bit of oak, definite sweetness. Taste is really good, a bit of mint, abundance of vanilla, bitterness from the coffee, smooth from the bourbon, it’s pretty high carbonation though, higher than other RIS’ I’ve had. Really good stuff.

12oz Bottle 2011 zintage. Thanks to SS I think. Pours out dark brown almost black topped with a small tan head. Aroma is tons of coffee along with some nice milk chocolate and sweet malts. Taste is all coffee, with the sweetness and a touch of booze on the end a very tast treat.

12 ounce bottle, 2011 vintage, courtesy of The Guy. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a thin fizzy brown head. Average head retention and lacing. Aroma of rich coffee, chocolate, vanilla, nutty notes and faint whisky. The taste is rich roasty coffee notes, bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, faint hops. Medium bodied. Tasty beer, and I have a feeling it might give me a buzz, which is exactly what I’m hoping for at the moment.

thanks hbmason for setting up a killer trade with madvike–12oz bottle-pours a dissipating light brown head and brown color. Aroma is roasty dark malt-dark coffee, some dark fruit, some malt bitter. Taste is roasty dark malt-espresso, secondary malt bitter/earthy hops bite, some dark fruit. OK carbonation. Not my taste but good beer.

Bottle, shared by plovmand. A clear, dark amber beer with a minimal dark beige head. Very mocha-ish aroma, some alcohol, and a bonfire touch. I could sniff on this one for a while. The flavor has a very pleasant alcohol touch, with mocha, burnt malts and some dried fruits and bonfire too. Good bitterness, both hoppy and roasted. Full-bodied and dry, finishing with a fine blend of mocha, bitterness and alcohol. Lovely indeed, tasteful, wonderful aroma and moreish. 100814
