Bottle from Kestral, thanks! Deep dark brown color, opague. Oak, dark chocolate, roasted malt and licorice in the aroma. Dried fruit, soft whisky notes. Full bodied. Soft and velvety flavor with creamy chocolate, dried fruit, whisky and licorice in the background. Sweet but complex, harmonious. Brilliant!

5cl sample @ SBWF12. Black in color, thin brown head. Compared to the normal IS version, this one has vanilla and peat and some dark fruity notes. Flavor has roasted malt, raisins, vanilla and wood. Warming, hint of whisky in the long finish. Lovely!

1st December 2009>br>Pigs Ear. Bottle thanks to our very tall Norwegian friend - Rune. Cheers mate! Opaque black beer, thick chocolate coloured head. Soft semi dry palate. Rich chocolatey malt with a nice blend of sour whisky. No peat or bitterness. Decent smooth chocowhisky beer!

Bottle at SBWF 2011. Black with no head. Very nice beer with a lot of barrel character. Also roasted malt, licorice, dark chocolate and some dark berries. But I must say that I do prefer the original, its more balanced than this one.

Bottle @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Originally rated on 5.12.2009. Great barrel aged beer, but the original is a bit more balanced. Whisky notes come through a bit too much

500ml bottle. Compliments to Rune for bringing it to our XII Rating Session 27. Jan 2011. Brown head, that leaves a creamy layer on top of the pitch black body. Whiff of damp cellar to the nose. Dark chocolate, blackberries, licorice and notes of cask in taste. Interesting and different!

Just found my ratings from last year, about this beer. Intense oaky, whisky, cocoa, dark chocolate, chocolate baking powder burst from the nose. Woahh. Full bodied, scotch, dark chocolate and lots of whisky. Well balanced. Alcohol fairly well hidden, until it hits the tummy. A truly wonderful winter warmer.

Bottle 500ml (Batch #412) @ Zoney
Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, oak and vanilla. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long oak vanilla finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
