Bottle from Becketts Farm, Wythall. Cloudy gold with small white head. Citrus, flora and biscuit malt aroma which is fairly standard but seems fresher on the nose than some. Taste of biscuit, honey, light citrus zest and pith, spice, moderate bitter bite in finish. Light to medium bodied, slick, easy drinking. Its rather good.

1/6/2023. Cask at the 36th Colchester Real Ale & Cider Festival. Pours clear dark golden amber with a small bubbly just off-white head. Good looking beer. Aroma of orange, citrus, stone fruits, biscuit, caramel, malt. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Moderate body, oily, soft carbonation. Well balanced. Enjoyed this.

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours a hazy amber gold with a small foamy off-white head. It’s slow to settle (but does so eventually) with good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just some floral hops. In the mouth it is sweet with a creamy texture wuth floral hops and a hint of citrus, After a while biscuits can be detected, and the texture becomes more watery. Finish is slightly dry with some bitterness. This is decent – a golden ale more than a bitter though ?

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2021 - Hackney. Pours clear honey-gold with a small, foamy white head. Lightly sweet, notes of pale bread, a little dough, straw, biscuits, low bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Decent balance to finish. Not bad.
