For our first transatlantic collaboration we went for a bold version of a true American craft beer classic - West Coast IPA. We increased the malt bill for a bigger body and higher ABV. To balance that out, we also upped the boil hop load for style appropriate bitterness and quadrupled dryhopping rates for increased aroma, coming from Citra, Mosaic and Strata (USA) hops.

Good if shortlived white head, leaving some shards over fully clear, metallic light-copper beer. Typical intens orangepeel/oil nose, with lupulin galore, hopoils. Bit mineral. Very powerful, yet inviting nose. Sweet orange, malts obvious, as is the alcohol - throughout. More hopoils than fruity α acids.Quite slick, oily feel, viscous. Alcoholheat. Tour-de-force, alcohol- and maltbomb under the hoptsunami - and yet the balance is there. Congrats!

Tall can from Winerack at home. Deep orange amber pour, slightly translucent. Thin white head. Aroma is big pine resin alcohol orange peel. Taste is orange and pine - quite juicy for a WCIPA, in a nice way. Sweet and spicy from the alcohol too. Palate is really nice - smooth and slightly frothy. Not too heavy. Very good!
