Crickley Hill represents another foray into fruited, oak-aged mixed fermentation ales, this time with delicious strawberry. This beer was aged in oak for a year before being refermented on local Strawberries from Carey Organic in Worcester for 4 weeks. It’s tasting amazing – beaming strawberry aroma, gentle acidity and a soft finish.

Draught 2023 version Small cream rim over metallic orange beer, veiled. Strawberries², some cucumber, and quite mineral, cleaning cloth. Sourish, unripe strawberries, lactic acid and farmyard odours (not all positively). Medium bodied at best, acidthinning, low carbonation. Not really a success, IMHO.

Bottle, gift from Dad. Hazy deep golden body with an off-white head that quickly fades. Lively carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of lemon, strawberry and straw. Flavour of cranberry and bitter lemon. Thin body with a smooth texture. Light fizz. Tart but with a soft, fruity quality from the strawberries.
