Opaque black beer. Silky smooth palate which is a little dry. Minerally roasted malt, bitter chocolate and bitter coffee. Some hops struggle through at the end. Pretty full on beer but all the better for it.

Espressoartiger Nachgeschmack. Super! 8/12/10/12/9/12

Tiny bottle courtesy of madmitch76 pours deep dark mahogany with mocha head. The aroma is dark roasted to charred malts, charred barrel notes, a rauch malt sensation, some caramel, chocolate and a slight note of dark fruity esters. The taste begins with dark fruity esters then quickly moving into dark roasted malts, caramel, chocolate and molasses. Before midway spicy oak and some booze come to the surface. Nice brew with oak, booze and caramel to chocolate goodness leaving a pleasing impression on my palate.

Cute little 250 mL bottle courtesy of Papsoe and shared at the 12th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering on 9/18/10. Pours a dark brown color with a thin head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of bitter coffee, dark malts, faint raisin notes, soy, chocolate and roasted malts. The taste is bitter coffee, bitter roasted malts, bitter minty hops, sweet caramel notes and a tart finish. Very bitter all the way through. Medium bodied. Interesting beer.
