Bottled. A dark amber beer with a huge creamy off-white head. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, wood, caramel, malt, peber, spices, yeast, and dusty and citrusy hops. The flavor is sweet with a light acidic edge from brettanomyces, yeast, and wood, combined with notes of caramel, malt, lemon, and peber, leading to a dry and somewhat tart finish.

Dark amber color, hazy, with creamy head. Mild dust and cellar aroma, mild caramel too. Correct body, the mouthfeel is quite dry, there is some dark caramel, and the cellar character; strong bitterness, also from the caramel. Interesting.

Bottle, 75cl. It’s a hazy, reddish golden beer, almost copper-colored, with a big, creamy, off-white head leaving lacings. Citrusy, bretty nose with malts and some general fruityness. slightly citrusy flavor with a hint of caramel, rather funky and fruity. Lasting, bretty finish with some citrus. Medium to full body, quite fizzy, but very smooth. A really nice one, but the funk is too dominant I think. (090612)

Bottle. Pours a dingy amber with a gargantuan pillowy head that is beige and seems to be sticking around. Aromas are interesting, but sort of faint. A bit of characteristic JP funk with an air of spice, pine and citrus. Maybe almost a faint and funky Pinesol or something. Flavor is a little washed out, but still pleasant and appealing. It starts off as almost nothing, but then the Pinesol and funkiness start to take over. They never really hit overdrive or anything, but they do make this fairly interesting and a bit
more refreshing than most of the other JP beers I’ve samples.

Bottled (from K Supermarket Kamppi, Helsinki). Deep amber colour, big foamy off-white head, that leaves rich lace. Aroma is some yeast, strong fruity and flowery hops along with some notes of freshly cut wood. Flavour is big grassy and flowery hops along with some sweetish malts. Big bitter grassy finish along with some soapy notes. Quite brutal bitter.

Thanks to the anonymous donor on the parking lot!! Marks for appearance as average, tasted under dark conditions. Winey, fruity nose, with quite some exotic fruit. Sour-sweet, bit of hops and lots of fruity esters. Seems a jumble for a while, then all flavours come into balance, with just a touch of bitter at the end. Pretty fizzy, medium bodied. Not the kind of usual fruity beer, but quite OK in a weird way.
