Draught, KØ11. Mildly vinous aroma. Black colour, very small tan head. The flavour is slightly vinous, not so roasted. Creamy mouthfeel. A hint of fruit in the finish, but nothing bad.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2011. Opaque black, small head. Slight coffee aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, hard mouthfeel. Roasted coffee doesn’t really come out due to the malt hardness. Fairly low bitterness. Not great.

Medium beige head. Opaque black body. Roasty earthy coffee grounds aroma with mealy burnt notes. Dry (and faintly acidic) burnt earthy mealy taste with coffee notes. Mid-bodied. Mild mouthfeel. Dry funky earthy aftertaste with barnyard and coffee notes. Not bad, but too subdued and with some disturbing elements. (0.1l draft at DBF’11.)

Bottle, thx Henrik. It pours a clear, brown body under a small, beige head. Coffee, some chocolate and dried fruits, and burnt malts on the nose, also indicating a dry mouthfeel to follow. It keeps that promise, it’s medium-bodied and with flavors of coffee, some chocolate and burnt malts, and some hay and herbal notes. Coffee in the finish, a bit short.. An easy drinkable beer with a lovely coffee-profile. Rating: 7-3-7-4-14-3.5. 090925
On tap at Bies Bryghus, as Bies Coffee Stout. A black one, topped by dense, small tan head. The aroma blends coffee and roasted malts in a nice way, adding some beef stock. Quite sweet in the mouth, seemingly hiding some butterscotch, or it might just be me expecting it. Coffee, roasted malts and some bitterness too. Full-bodied, pleasantly carbonated and almost sticky sweet even though there’s dryness. Sweet and roasted finish. A quite nice one, but too buttery. 110415

Black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, hard roasted malt and coffee. Rather sweet flavor with a roasted bitterness and a dry finish. A bit light bodied for a stout. 080111
