‘All music is folk music. I ain't never heard a horse sing a song.’
- Louis Armstrong
And so it is for cider. From the land, for the people and imbued with a rich cultural history, ‘West End Shrews’ is part of an on-going exploration into the links between music and cider which are both firmly rooted in time, place, the people that create them and the folks they wash over.
Twists of leather and mahogany rub against jewel bright green apples. A hint of orange rind and a whisper of smoke. Time mellowed tannins complement a balanced astringency to create a satisfying savoury character.
Turn the lights down low, put the needle to the vinyl and sip from a small, elegant glass. Now you has jazz.
Dry, still, unfiltered, unpasteurised, wild fermented, pure juice, natural cider
Ingredients: Apples (Dabinett with a touch of Bramley)

330ml bottle from Cat in the Glass. Orangey gold colour, white foam head that quickly dissipates to a thin rim and aroma of funky apple. Taste is sweetish, tangy, apple, funky, earthy, caramel hint, with some drying tannins. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
