Hazy amber with a medium off white head. Aroma had roasted malt, caramel and rye bread. Over the palate came roasted malt, caramel, rye bread and nuts. Somewhat off dry finish.

Swing top bottle 50 cl. Pours a hazy amber with a rock solid and lacing, beige head. Lots of stable smell and sweaty horses here, in other words: Brett at work. Medium body, dry and tart, lactic acids and Brett to a lesser degree than in the nose. Dry finish. Well clearly infected with both this and that and far from how an Alt should taste like. But it's one of those infections that actually come out very interesting, challenging yet drinkable. Probably better than the original beer! 300920

Swing top bottle from Quack-Duck, thanks! Copper color. Yeast in the bready aroma with caramel notes. Caramelly, bready flavor with yoghurt notes. Maybe the first signs of infection. Not an alt in the classical sense of the word.

I find that alts are difficult to find good examples of, this one is pretty good for the style, but has issues. It tastes a lot like some of the homebrew issues I used to have, which is odd that their other beers don't have the same off flavour. brewery in Dresden

50cl swing top bottle from Bautzner Tor Dresden. A clear orange brown colour with a mid-sized most good lasting beige head. Reddish malt in the aroma, some bitter hops, spruce, caramel. Taste of reddish malt, caramel, spruce, mild bitter hops.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass not as dark as exspected, small head. Mild-matly aroma. Starts mild-malty, a bit rusty-spicy, modest dry. Soft finish with fruity hints. Well balanced but should be drier.

9/9/10/9/11/9

Bügelverschlußflasche ( von Stefan!): Hazy, amber coloured, quite stable off-white head; dryish toasty caramel with a tinge of dried fruits in the nose, shy aromatic hops underneath; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, not too light bodied; slightly lingering toasty and hoppy finish. Incredibly good Non-Düsseldorf Alt...........
