forgot to check in today's calendar beer! Day 13, a nice W-Bock. Uses yeast from Schneider so of course it's good. It's a bit unfortunate to include a beer in your calendar that's 6 weeks past its BBD, though.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, orange, dark golden to amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Slightly bready, minimally toasty, wheaty malty, yeasty fruity and slightly yeasty spicy aroma, notes of clove, a touch of caraway, caraway spiced bread, some overripe banana. Taste is sweet-ish, wheaty malty, yeasty spicy and slightly yeasty fruity, some hop bitterness, minimally smoky, resinous woody overtones, notes of clove, a touch of caraway, some olibanum, overripe banana, a touch of pear and apple, a minimally mineral touch as well. Minimally oily, watery texture, slightly dry, simultaneously minimally cloying palate, medium, scattered, mildly prickly carbonation. Surprisingly light, almost refreshing - not fully convincing as Weizenbock, very interesting brew due to the olibanum touch nevertheless.

Süß-hefiger Beginn, milde Herbe, helles Getreide. Süffig, bananig, angenehm würzig, zum Ende aber alkoholisch. Langer hefiger Abgang. Nett. 8/8/9/8/9/8

0.33 l bottle from 'Craftbeershop.com', best before November 2023. Hazy, deep amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, fairly yeasty-spicy, a little fruity-floral aroma of nutmeg, clove, caramel, grains, overripe banana and light pear. Gently sweet, malty, moderately, rather yeasty-spicy and a bit fruity-floral taste of caramel, grains, toasted nuts, overripe banana, clove, nutmeg and hints of pear, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium to full body, rather effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Solid Weizenbock, rather classic and yeast-forward.
