Belgian-Style Saison Ale

Our Spring Saison is light blonde in color with a fresh hoppiness and a wild and rustic Brettanomyces character. Lighter in color and alcohol than our Saison Rue, yet equally complex in its own way. Perfect for warmer weather and Spring celebrations.

Admin Note: Bruery has started to brew this beer again under the Bruery Terreux label.

A hazed golden saison with a thick frothy lacing off white head. In aroma, nice herbaceous malt with good Brett, coriander, light soapy notes, butvery nice overall. In mouth, a nice smooth coriander laced malt with Brett notes, fruity esters, in good shape. Tasted Dec 24 2012.

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff april-12: igjen må jeg støtte meg til Asle Bjørns rating, siden jeg bare har et bilde (men da har jeg likt den): "Pours a misty, sparkling golden body with a huge, off-white, gelatinous head that sculptures onto a clitoris. The head carries the beer cap, bot not a large coin. Wonderful, fruity, berry, roseleaf, yeast and marmelade aroma. Light alcoholic, bitter, light sweet flavors. Spicy, herbal, grassy notes. Medium to full body. Light doughy but also smooth. Lovely beer. " Nytt forsøk på Cardinal mai-13 bekrefter førsteinntrykket - typisk belgisk gjæraroma etterfulgt av en fruktig og god bitterhet. Et sødmesnev balanseres mot et behagelig streif av brett.

21/07 RBESG Grand Tasting, 0.75 l bottle. It poured hazy yellow body with big head. Aroma was nice coriander, yeast and fruits. Flavor was a bit sweet, lightly acidic, biscuit malty and mildly lemony/herbal hoppy. Quite lot of yeast here as well. Pretty full in body for the style with long pleasantly rounded biscuit finish. I guess this is off style as it’s not bland. Well, I really liked it.

RBESG ’12, Bratislava. Grand Tasting at Richtar Jakub. 75cl Bottle. Hazy golden yellow colour, white head. Aroma is very sweet, overripe fruits, cloying, stonefruits. Flavour is medium-sweet, malty, ripe fruit, stonefruits, light tart, peach. Light to medium bodied. It’s too sweet and overcarbonated. Would rather call this a yeasty Belgian blond ale.

RBESG 12 GT. Poured a murky golden body. The nose is quince compote, general fruity maltiness, nice and sweet. Sweet yeasty taste, meaty, very light lemon, light dust, but generally a pleasant mouthfeel. Could be better...
