Belgian-Style Saison Ale
Our Spring Saison is light blonde in color with a fresh hoppiness and a wild and rustic Brettanomyces character. Lighter in color and alcohol than our Saison Rue, yet equally complex in its own way. Perfect for warmer weather and Spring celebrations.
Admin Note: Bruery has started to brew this beer again under the Bruery Terreux label.

750 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. The glass fills completely with a huge white head, while a pale golden and slightly hazy beer only slowly appears. Rustic aroma with notes of farmhouse (brettanomyces) and oxidised apples, also spicy notes (coriander, cloves). Moderate carbonation in the mouth. The flavour is distinctly hoppy and moderately spicy throughout, with a bitter finish. Easy drinking for its strength.

Funky pear and apple aroma. Shimmering amber, thick cream colored head. A strange yeasty bitterness accompanies the funk and clashes with it. Dueling yeast strains? Mossy hops emerge but vanish leaving yeast and some floral notes. Iβm guessing that there is a yeast that didnβt work in this one and the reason why there is a separate 100% brett version. I could be wrong.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a huge white head that lasts. Aroma has notes of hops as well as a nice yeasty funk with earthy and dough notes. Flavor begins with a slight citrus hop bite but sweet citrus and funk takeover for the finish. Quite heavily carbonated.

Bottled (from Cracked Kettle). Hazy orangeish golden colour with mediumsized foamy/fluffy head. Aroma is grassy, earthy, a bit wooden as well as some mild fruity and barnyardy notes. Flavour is being grassy, earthy, rather dry, some yeast as well as some slight spicyness. Quite close to many Belgian Saisons, so a good job from The Bruery.
