33 cl bottle. Rated on 02.02.2010
Pitch black colour, bright beige head. Aroma has licorice, grilled meat, sour milk and almost burned malt. Flavour is somewhat too light with ash, some smoke and hints of licorice. Good porter.

bottle from Vinoble-favrskov clear dark brown, small bubbly light brown head. nice strong aroma. bourbon, licorice, coffee, roasted stuff, pretty solid aroma. flavor is roasted stuff, licorice, hoppy balance that unfortunately comes off as very slightly cellary. still a very good porter, with lots of flavor.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours black and opaque with a light brown head. Sweetish aroma of licorice and hard roasted malt. Quite full-bodied, with hard roasted - yet sweet - malts, a little licorice, vanilla and a whiff of coffee. Lightly bitter malt finish. Quite pleasant with high drinkability. 160309

33cl bottle at Kolding ølmesse, 2009. Pours pitch black with a creamy brown head. Nose is roast. Chocolate, coffee and roast. Smooth and full bodied. Roast, ashy and notes of smoked malts. A bit harsh and rough around the edges. Warmth. Syrupy smooth...

On tap at John Bull, Aalborg. (as Old Anchor Porter) A next to black beer with a diminishing, dense tan to beige head. Nice lacings too. A bit weak on the nose, with roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, nougat and a tiny little sourness nicely blended. Some sweetness in the mouth, smooth, quite dry and well-carbonated, with chocolate and coffee. Some bitterness towards the finish, mostly coffee-like. Medium duration. An elegant, unchallenging porter with good drinkability. (080914)

Cask at EBF Copenhagen 2008 ... Deep deep black ... very light oast malt nose ... a deep roast malt flavour with some coffee ... low level of bitterness ... and decent depth.
