bottle from barley wine. clear brown, smooth light brown head. Nutty malty and dry aroma, also faint chocolate or toffee, faint spicy bitter caramel. faint wood (oak). Flavor is licorice, malts, a little sweetness, wood. Flavor is a little ways afar from the usual barley wine, but it tastes pretty good anyways, could do well as a christmas beer, with the wood adding some spicy bitterness. quite sweet perhaps from malts, but also i guess from sugar added to boost the abv up to 11.5%. All in all a pretty tasty brew that has this "craft beer" touch to it. Nice one.

Hazy amber with a white head. Aroma is sweet malty, caramel and rather alcoholic. Flavor is very sweet and light bitter. Very sweet and rather alcoholic finish. I’m generally not a fan of barley wines but this was a decent example of the style. 110311

Bottled. Murky reddish brown colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, some wood, grass, mild sourish wooden and fruity notes as well as mild smoked wood and some alcoholic notes. Flavour is quite much the same. A rather unbalanced and borting barley wine.

500ml bottle. Almost clear, reddish brown body with a big, foamy beige head. Aroma feels like moderate sweet malt and hops. Flavor is malt, some caramel and balanced between sweet and bitter. A nice body, more warming than alcoholic and a smooth finish. I really enjoyed this one. Something between an English and American barley wine IMO.
