Bottled 355ml. -Courtesy of MatSciGuy, shared with him and Marko (thanks!). Amber coloured, small off-white head, dry bourbon nose. Strong sticky malty, dried fruits, bourbon and some caramel with noticable alcohol in the finish. Really good brew.

Bottle at Craig’s. Dark amber, overly vanilla, sweet toffee, caramel, vanilla dominates too much.

Another proof of MatSciGuy’s generosity, huge thanks! Poured a dark amber-red body with an off white head. Very complex, excellent aroma - bourbon, vanilla, yoghurt, dough, raisins, strong caramel, soft in general, just slightly sticky. Wow! Strong creamy, caramelly sweet taste, with fine vanilla & bourbon notes, cappuccino, not that much alcohol in the taste yet warming, just light bitterness. Something else that’s illegible. All in all, a superb beer.

Reviewed from notes. Received in trade.
The appearance was a half fingered white foamy head that dies within about a minute. Lacing is adequate and clings nicely around the glassware.
The smell had apples and cherries dance in front of the malty sweet aspect of trying to add a decent spice to it, hmmmm...I like it.
The taste had a nice sweet malty apple/cherry flavoring that adds to a nice super sweet malty apple/cherry aftertaste. The finish is super sticky and sweet.
On the palate, it sits about a medium on the body with about a decent sipping barleywine that shows its good for the style (American or English, well, we’re just say that’s up for determine). Carbonation is good for the style and for me.
Overall, this is good for me and good for the style. you know I would have this again.

Tap at The Jeffrey. Pours reddish brown with two finger head. Nose is hoppy with plenty of toffee. Tastes of toffee, dark fruits, molasses, some hops, and booze. Pleasant body and again not too sweet and drinkable despite abv.

2012 bottle thanks to Brian. Pours a cloudy lighr brown and beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is oak, candy sugar and booze. Thick mouthfeel with candy sugar and booze with sweet finish. Very good.

Bottle sampled at a tasting. From notes. Bourbon and vanilla with loads of dark fermented fruits and carmel. Sweeter than I expected, but very good.

0.355l bottle from trade with FrostyTiger. Big thanks for this David! It pours an amazing looking deep dark ruby red body with a dense as hell fascinating looking beige head that's turning in to a islandy thing after a while. The aroma is quite classic Barleywine with a strong caramel, nutty sweetness. A little bit of fireworks, lots of ripe fruits, some oxidation and even traces of vanilla. Smells quite good. It has a thick oily mouthfeel with a soft really prickling carbonation level. Lovely flavors. Really nutty with a good amount of nutty bitterness. Sticky glazed caramel, malt drops, some warming alcohol and lots of ripe fruits in the finish. It also almost tastes like bourbon without many of the elements bourbon normally gives. Mmmmhh.. A lovely night cap on a fantastic Saturday in Bergen. Thanks again David! 07.04.2013

Bottle shared by Irishboy. Pours very hazy, dirty dark brown with no head. Aroma is like bourbon with raisins. Flavor is toffee, bourbon, raisin. Maybe a hint of oak. It’s not heavily sweet, so there must be some hop in it. It’s very exceedingly tasty.

12 oz bottle from Bytemysis. Nose is vanilla, toffee, golden raisins, and hints of bourbon, oak, and cotton candy. Lightly hazy rust with a small beige head. Flavor is vanilla, light bourbon, toffee, and dark fruit.
