Bottle shared by Irishboy. Pours very hazy, dirty dark brown with no head. Aroma is like bourbon with raisins. Flavor is toffee, bourbon, raisin. Maybe a hint of oak. It’s not heavily sweet, so there must be some hop in it. It’s very exceedingly tasty.

12 ounce bottle thanks to Beau. Pours a murky ruby color with a medium beige head. A big sweet nose of berries and leather. A sweet flavor dominated by fruit especially berries, some heat, dusty despite being only 1 year old. Light vanilla and bourbon notes. Good.

12 oz. bottle, sent from javit (thanks Adam), pours a deep dark amber / dark mahogany with a small beige head. Nose of bourbon, wood, loads of caramel and toffee, and vanilla. Flavour follows suit, with decadent layers of complexity - with bourbon and vanilla from the barrels, caramel malt, toffee, some brown sugar and a syrupy tone. The barrels are very well-situated in their balance, without overtaking the other elements. There is noticeable alcohol in here (this feels more like 15-16% ABV), leaving quite a burn on the palate on the finish. Palate is thick and viscous, on the slightly sweeter side, but nowhere near cloying. Great stuff, but could use more concealed alcohol.

12 ounce bottle. Bottled in January, 2012. Cloudy toffee brown color. Brief bubbly beige head disapates quickly. Nose is bourbon and oak upfront with a hint of smoked malt. Strong alcohol aroma. Wow, this comes on fast with raisin - dried fig and oak flavor. Bitter hop flavor balanced with a smokey and burnt caramel malt character. There is a lot happening here. Complex and warming. I think this would be even better with some aging. Long sticky, bittersweet malt finish.
