(bottle, as Matador øl, courtesy of Papsoe) Clear, reddish amber colour with a medium-sized, off-white head, leaving some lace. Chalky, dusty and moderately sweet cara-malty nose, toasty and grainy with caramel and chocolate. Sweet flavour, full bodied, crispy mf. Toast-malty taste with caramel, light notes of chocolate and an underlying fruity tinge; sweet, malty finish with a little burnt bitterness. Decent DB.

Bottle: Reddish-amber coloured, small foamy layer, moderate sweetish-fruity (dried fruit) and caramelly nose with a hoppy touch; sweetish-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; sweet-fruity finish with a tinge of coffee and a roastmalty bitterness in the aftertaste. A decent, easy-drinking Doppelbock. Merci, Jonas !

33 cL / 66 cL bottles and tap several times. Pours golden red with shortlasting but nice off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt. Taste adds aroma hops to the caramel malt taste. Round and well balanced beer. Alcohol moves this very close the their barley wines. Has a distinct Gourmetbryggeriet flavour to it.

A deep red beer with a bubbly orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of berries, alcohol, and a dusty hop note. The flavor is quite sweet with strong notes of caramel, some spices, and a dusty hoppy note. All the time with an underlying note of alcohol, which is growing in strength all the time, to in the end being quite strong, and leading into a dry woody end. In the very last tail end, the dusty hops comes back.

[Bottled] Hazy nut brown, creamy head. Sweet and very malty, nearfull bodied. Roasty and lightly buttery. There is some caramel, but despite it’s size flavours are discrete and sparse. It’s firm, but the mouthfeel is not as soft and deep as is desirable from a doppelbock. Low bitterness. A decent beer, but it does not live up to my expectations.

Deep amber colour. Fine malty aroma with caramel and nuts. Flavour is sweet and malty ending in a nice medium bitter and quite long finish. Alcohol is clearly present in a nice sense.
